The Air Seal 22 Duct Masticitself is a material with a pudding like consistency that dries to an air tight rubber coating. This and other duct mastics can be used to prevent and stop duct leaks at the a/c registers, punctures, return airs, any taped duct corner, plenum leaks etc. Remember to clean the duct area first before applying the mastic. The Air Seal 22 Duct Mastic takes up to 24 hours to dry. So do not turn on your HVAC till the mastic has had time to dry. Your energy savings will suffer with this product if you do not allow the duct mastic to dry.
